The Item Tree option displays on the left the list of items of the organization, sorted by creation date (showing the most recent first), and on the right the tree with the dependencies between the items.

Dependency Tree
The Item Tree displays a hierarchical structure with the relationships and dependencies between items. It will be visible if the option “ Dependencies” is checked in Settings > Items > General Analysis Configuration
By default, the tree is displayed collapsed and alphabetically ordered (A-Z) according to the Tree column.
The table includes the following columns, depending on the configuration defined in Settings > Items > General Analysis Configuration > Accumulated Dependency Degree:
-
If the configuration is Global to all dimensions, the columns displayed are:
Tree, Dependency, and Category. -
If the configuration is Independent by dimension, the columns displayed are:
Tree, Category, and an additional column for each dimension configured as accumulated.
The following actions are allowed on the Dependency Tree:
-
Create roots: Allows inserting one or more items as root nodes of the tree. To do this, items must be dropped in the upper area indicated with the message “Drop items in this area to create roots.” The items will be inserted as root nodes with a dependency level of No dependency.
Unknown Attachment
Saving a root without descendants is not allowed. If a node is inserted as a root but has no dependent items (child nodes), the insertion will not be preserved upon exit. -
Associate: Allows associating one or more items to the tree using the drag-and-drop functionality. To do this, items must be dragged from the list to the desired position in the tree.
Unknown Attachment
When items are dropped, the system automatically performs validations before completing the association. The following is not allowed:
-
Associating an item more than once at the same level.
-
Associating an item as dependent on itself.
If the association is successful, a confirmation message will be displayed. In case of an error, the system will inform the reason.
-
When an item containing descendants is associated, the entire branch will be inserted, respecting its hierarchical structure.
-
Disassociate: Allows removing the relationship between an item and its parent node using drag-and-drop.
To do this, the node must be dragged from the tree to the designated area in the list, indicated with the message “Drop items in this area to disassociate them from the Tree.” If dropped outside this area, the action will be automatically canceled.
Unknown Attachment
Disassociating a first-level root with dependent items is not allowed. In this case, the system will display an error message.
When disassociating a node, only the relationship with the upper item from which it is dragged will be removed:
-
If the node still has another upper item, it will remain in the rest of the branches.
-
If it has no other upper items and has dependent items, it will be displayed as a root, preserving its structure.
-
If it has no dependent items or other upper items, it will be removed from the tree.
-
-
Edit: Allows directly modifying the name and category of the item from the table.
-
Name: Only the names of items that do not belong to special categories can be modified.
-
Dependency: Allows modifying the dependency degree directly from the Dependency column or from the columns by dimension, if configured as independent. For root items (first level), the text “No dependency” will be displayed, without the possibility of editing. For dependent items, a selector with the values configured in Settings > Items > Dependency Degree will be displayed.
