Element Tree

The Element Tree option displays two tables: the right one contains the list of elements of the organization, and the left one shows the existing dependencies between the elements, sorted alphabetically.

The table on the right shows the following useful information:

  • Element: Displays the name of the element. To insert a new element into the list, click the 'New' button. To delete one or more elements, select the desired row(s) and click the 'Delete' button.

  • Category: Indicates the category or subcategory to which the element belongs. To define the category or subcategory, double-click on the cell, which will generate the following screen:

The options provided by the tool are as follows:

  • Associate: Allows associating a category/subcategory to the element by selecting the desired row and clicking the 'Associate' button.

  • Dissociate: Offers the possibility to remove a category/subcategory from an element by selecting the desired row and clicking the 'Dissociate' button.

  • Expand: Allows expanding the list of categories/subcategories.

  • Collapse: Allows collapsing the list of categories/subcategories.

  • Inserted: Indicates whether the element has been inserted into the dependency tree.

The table on the left shows the dependency tree of the elements defined by the organization, allowing the following tasks:

  • Collapse: Collapses the list of all associated services and elements.

  • Download: Allows downloading the view of the dependency tree in CSV format.

    • CSV Report: This report contains the information of Elements, Risks, and Controls evaluated in the risk analysis. It will download the elements filtered from the interface, or if none are filtered, it will allow downloading the complete element tree.

NOTE: If you want to convert the downloaded report into Excel format, you can do so by following the steps explained in the Pending Downloads section.

NOTE 2: Elements that are not part of the tree will not be included in the report. To obtain the complete list, you can download it in the Inventory > Element Table section.

  • Properties: Allows direct access to an Element's form to view its information.

  • Calculate Accumulated Dimensions: Allows recalculating the values of the defined accumulated dimensions based on the dependencies established between the elements in the dependency tree. This button only appears when one of the dimensions configured in the Element Inventory has the 'Accumulated' checkbox activated.

To create a dependency between two elements, drag them from the right table to the left table and drop the element onto which you want to create the dependency.

NOTE: The same element cannot depend on another element twice.

To remove a dependency between two elements, drag the element from the left table (Dependency Tree) to the right table.

NOTE: If in the 'Settings/Analysis Methodologies' section the 'Dependencies by Dimension' option is selected, and in the Dimensions table, the 'Accumulated' column is selected for those you wish to display their accumulated value, this will be shown in the table as follows.
