Consolidated BIAs

This option of Consolidated BIAs allows you to merge the BIAS (individual) performed on a process, and the user could have a global vision of the impact analysis on an unique process.

By accessing the option, GlobalSUITE displays a graph representing the MTPD and Consolidated RTO of the processes, as well as the list of the processes defined in the scope. Each process has identified the services it supports, the number of individual BIAs conducted on the process, the MTPD and consolidated RTO.

NOTE: The value of MTPD and consolidated RTO is displayed only once the individual BIAs have been merged.

You have to click on the name of the process for consolidating BIAs (individual), you accede to the following screen below:

These options are allowed:

  • Save: Once selected the type of consolidation (manual or automatic), it allows you to save the selection.

  • Back: It allows you to return to the list of consolidated BIAs.

  • Display dependencies: Displays in a pop-up window, the dependency tree of the organization filtering through the BIA Consolidated process. In this window you can see the dependencies of processes and what assets (software, hardware, communications, etc.) each process needs. In addition, clicking the Properties button will open a new tab with the information of the element that needs to be analyzed.

  • Show values: It shows the values on which the level of impact is calculated. This value have been defined in the section ‘Home/Settings’.

  • By Departament: It allows you to view graphically the valuations realized on a process by different departments of the company. You can view this graph in an emergent window or show the graphs in an individual tab of the browser.

  • For Type of Impact: It allows you to view graphically the valuations realized in one or several impacts by different departments of the company. You can visualize this graph in an emergent window or show the graphs in an individual tab of the browser.

Consolidation Data

GlobalSUITE allows us to select the followingo options for consolidating the BIAs:

  • Manual: It offers the possibility of estasblishing the impact value manually based on the individual BIAs which have been performed by different departments. For this task, it can be supported by these buttons ('By Department' and 'By type of impact') where the values are shown in the individual BIAs graphically.

  • Automatic: It lets you consolidate the individual BIAs automatically, and you can select between two types of calculation. In addition, this type of consolidation allows you to use the BIA of the subprocesses that are being consolidated. To do this, you must check the "Include subprocesses" box, so it will display the drop-down list of the individual BIA of the subprocesses.

These are the types of automatic consolidation:

It performed an automatic consolidation of the BIAs (individual) that you want. For this taks you have to click on the drop down menu, select the BIA demanded and click on the button ‘Add’. In case you want to remove a BIA of the list, you have to click on the button ‘Remove’. Once selected the BIAs (individual) you have to define the consolidation criteria:

    • Weighted average: It allows you to define a weighted average establishing the importance weights on the BIAS.

  • Maximum: It consolidates the values defined in the BIAs and selecting the maximum value of the valuations to consolidate.

According to the graph of the economic impact, the consolidation on the maximum value in 1.00 seconds it will show the Medium level.

  • Minimum: It consolidates the values defined in the BIA and selecting the minimum value of the valuations to consolidate.

According to the graph of the economic impact, the consolidation on the minimum value in 1.00 seconds it will show the 'Very low' level

Once defined the consolidation values, it's necessary to manage and define the consolidated BIA and how the BIA has been developed in the section of BIAs (individual), obtaining the MTPD and defining the minimum levels of the operation, etc.

  • Different for each type of impact:

It allows you to define the consolidation criteria for each impact evaluated. These criteria have been developed in the previous point.

Once defined the consolidation values, it’s necessary to manage and define the consolidated BIA and how the BIA has been developed in the section of BIAs (individual), obtaining the MTPD and defining the minimum levels of the operation, etc

BIA Information

In case you want to remove an association, you have to drag the resource of the left table to the right table.

Resumption of the regular levels of operation

  • Resumption period: It allows the user to establish the maximum time period on which the organization must return to the normality.

  • Justification: It allows the user to add any comment which justifies the time period defined in the previous point.

RTO

It allows the user to define the specific RTO of the process which has been evaluated and consolidated. For this, the user has to define a number (text field) and the time scale (dropdown).

RPO

It allows the user to define the specific RPO of the process which has been evaluated and consolidated. For this, the user has to define a number (text field) and the time scale (dropdown).

Inventory Valuation

This section allows the user to valuate the process according to the dimensions defined in the section 'Administration/Analysis Methodologies'.

Customizable Questions

In BIA form will display the questions configured in the section of 'Configuration/Business Continuity'. These questions can be of different types: 'Text', 'Select', 'Table' or 'Table of Assets'.

In the 'Table' questions you can add records by clicking on the 'New' button and with the 'Remove' button delete the ones you want, besides you can edit each one of the fields by double clicking.

For 'Asset table' questions you can include assets of the Asset Inventory (Analysis/ Inventory) with the 'Relate Assets' button. When you click on it, a pop-up window is displayed where the list of assets appears with the categories configured for the question, allowing the selection of those assets that you want to add to the question, and adding them through the 'Associate Assets' button.

If the process is in the Dependency tree with related assets, the asset table displays by default the assets that are associated in the dependency tree. If, on the other hand, the process is not found in the dependency tree, the asset table shows all assets of the inventory. Regardless of the assets shown in the initial load, the 'Show' button allows you to display all the inventory assets (Show All) or only the assets associated with the process (By Process).

You can also add new assets by clicking the ‘Create Asset’ button. These assets will be displayed in red to indicate that they are not assets from the inventory.

For all the assets included in the question 'Asset table', it is possible to specify the instant of recovery in case of disaster, using the fields 'RTO value' and 'RTO unit', in addition you can add comment for each asset.
